not new to BB-Q'in but new to smokin....i have a char-broil smoker with fire box from home depot....made some mods to it with a sliding cooking rack and added a rotisserie to it also....i'll be asking question as time rolls by

First off welcome Bob to SMF. You'll like it here cause there are abunch of good folks here that would just love to help you out with just about anything to do with smoking. We really like to have newbies here because they can bring in a new propective to how things are done. There's nothing like a new set of eyes to give and new way to make things that little differant to make things alittle better. So I hope you know about the Qview here.

It's also free and it will give you the basics of smoking. So after all of that you just need to go grab something to smoke and if you have any question just post them here and we will answer it quickly so you don't have any mishaps with your smoke.

thx guys fer da fast reply....i've had my smoker over a year now but only used it as a grill with hick/mesq smoke chips/chunks, adds great flav to what ever you cook on the grill....but i'm in the middle of collecting all kinds of fruit type woods to add to the cherry, apple that i have now....i have a PB acct also and will have pic's on my smoker mods....i have made some killer venison on the grill but want to take it to the next supreme level....so far i have run two trial smoker runs without any meat to learn the temp control, so far so good using just plain wood...............bob

i have boku pictures all over the net on bout 25 forums from hunting forums, R/C forums and woodworking forums too, now cooking forums....as soon as git going with the mod's i have read here added to the ones i did already to my char broil smoker from home depot i'll have a nice qview thread

I know your area well. Hunted & fished Pike & Wayne Counties all of my life----Saw Creek, Pine Flats, Red Rock Run, Shohola (before and after the lake), Little Equinunk, Grassy Road, Fairview Lake, Deckers Hollow, Wacky-Laxen, Elbow Swamp, etc, etc. I could go on for quite awhile.

LOL---I forgot about the "lack-of-action" nickname. I still remember the first time I was there (as a kid). I heard the sirens going off, but didn't see any signs. Then the water started getting near the top of my hip-boots!

I never did good there. I preferred small trout streams for trout (some I mentioned), and the Lackawaxen pool (in the Delaware) for shad.
