Spun the last Tri tip we had in the freezer, had beans and tater salad with it. Then played with the new Vortex grilled a few brats the chicken wings and a few stuffed shrooms. Beef got some hickory smoke pecan for the rest.

The Vortex is a little flame thrower just filled it with fully lit coals and let it burn! I'm looking forward to searing a steak over the Vortex soon!:drool

The beef looks fantastic--bet it was great eating.  Beans are always great eating,  Shrooms I haven't had much luck with--never been happy with the results.  Yours, on the other hand look real tasty.  As for the wings, well I generally pass on them.

The rotisserie TT is great, what aren't you happy about with your shrooms? I can't believe you pass on wings what's up with that?

That too looks tasty!! The rest of it as well, but I do love my beef.

:points:

Thanks Lance, the beef is my fave as well I recently bought a kettle grill and rotisserie it's great for TT but I need to find other cuts to try as well.

Just can't seem to come up with a filling I really like.

As for wings. Well.....I don't eat skin, fat, or bone so aside from locking the sauce off there's no much left. Just kinda a "why bother" for me. Now I know that puts me in the minority......

We just use cream cheese and some type of sausage usally ground or cocktail sausages, shredded cheese and seasoning. Maybe some green onion occasionally.
You just don't hear many people not liking chicken wings, more for the rest of us!

Looks great. No action pics of the vortex? Come on man. LOL

Let's see what we have.

That's a sacrificial hunk of pecan. As the lid stays off that Vortex really takes off I bet with some lump it's crazy hot.

Oh yea, b got his vortex ! :yahoo: Lookin great man ! Thumbs Up

Thx WHB, maybe next time I can center it better! I think it will put a mean sear on a steak!! I'm thinking a rotisserie chicken over it but it may not be a great option.

I hear ya Gary. I'm not much of one for skin and I think chicken fat is disgusting. The exception, however, is wings. But not the crap you get at dominos or hooters. We got a place here in town that does big hurkin' whole wings. And I can eat my weight in those! Too bad I can't find whole wings to throw on the grill.

Position the Vortex wide side up under your rotisserie chicken with coals banked around your Vortex. The Vortex will shield the bird from direct heat.

ill try it that way,my thinking was that would take a fair amount of charcoal. I was thinking of just using the baskets then dumping them in the Vortex to finish it off.:th_violent5:
