I have cooked some briskets on my Master Built Electric Smoker and none of them have come out with the smoke flavor that I get on y wood smoker. I am using hickory, and oak chips with the vent closed at 225 degrees. Can anyone give me any help?

Thank you,

All smokers need the exhaust wide open when adding smoke...   It can be closed up a bit when the cooking starts....

As Dave stated, open the vent wide open. With the vent closed, you are not getting the air that is needed for the chips to smoke properly.

Smoke it up

should I soak the chips or not? and how often do I need to add chips?

Will the A-MAZE-N smoke generator work with a cookshack or similar electric smoker that doesn't have a large or adjustable exhaust vent?  The vent is a small hole, and I'm concerned there may not be enough oxygen, or the combustion can easily be extinguished by too much smoke.

Or are there other options to pipe in smoke externally?
