Turned out great! Best chicken I've ever had! My wife eats it and is silent! Women........oh well!
it was juicy and seasoned perfect! If I ever get a nod from her I will faint!!! :-) :-) :-) :-)
Yes , keep the Smoker , the Wife will soon crack a smile and ask for more . . .
Be patient , and keep offering up your goodies . . .
My wife was also not the biggest supporter of my smoking hobbies. She loves pulled pork, but I can't make that every weekend, it's just too much. So I tried country ribs; she didn't like. I tried tri-tip; she didn't like. I tried brisket flats; not impressed. She was convinced I was wasting my time and didn't hesitate to let me know verbally. Then one day I did cornish hens, and she ate it like a hyena tearing through a carcass on the savannah! I sat there silently amused, then after 5 minutes of silent eating asked her how she liked it, she said "It's Ok I guess". Which in her stubborn language means, AWESOME! A week later I was doing 6 of them for her girls night gathering.Turned out great! Best chicken I've ever had! My wife eats it and is silent! Women........oh well! it was juicy and seasoned perfect! I love it when families and friends get together for Sunday afternoon gatherings. Usually a glass of wine or beer in hand, watching the game, being loud, socializing and catching up on what happened that week. Then dinner is served and a hush falls over the crowd! That's when you know its good!
My late Father In-law used to say " must be good , no body's talkin "
Well, I see that you're from Kentucky...hmmm...what liquid commodity is Kentucky nationally known for??????
I hear ya Humdinger! The wife is something else sometimes. She does like the ribs. There may have been too much smoke on the chicken for her. I'll give her that. I will try the cornish hens though! I usually chalk it up to foolish pride though. Hey, this is good therapy! What do I owe you guys for your services????
Sounds good. And the same to you. If you're ever in the Detroit area let me know. It's WAY cooler than what you read about in the national magazines/papers. I'll make sure you're well taken care of!
Humdinger, if your ever down this way look me up and we will fill the smoker and sip some bourbon!!! Maybe even a cigar or two!
