Stopped by our local GFS and picked up a bag of TT's for a friend and one for myself of course!
If the store's around me have them they run 10-11.99 a pound the bulk packs I got are 3.29 a pound,not like there hard to trim for that kind of savings!
 
So cleaned one up slathered it with thick worchestshire sauce and Tatonka Dust! Will be reverse searing this later today with either pecan and cherry or post oak maybe you can help me decide chine on in!

Nice score, nice cook!  At what temp did you start the reverse sear?  Is Tatonka dust a common seasoning?

Tatonka Dust is a great seasoning from Owens BBQ, look it up try it you'll love it! Started the R/S at 110* IT pulled off about 120*IT. Finished shot.

Tasty looking Tri Tip! Wish ours would drop in price again. Even the bulk at the restaurant supply her is above $4. Sure do miss the $3.25 days we had a few years ago.

$7.99 was a good price for me then spring hit price went to $11.99 luckily the GFS store bye :sausage:me started to carry it!:sausage:
 
Gonna have to clear out some space in the freezer! Cash and Carry has bulk Tri Tip on sale for $3.39!! Best price its been in 2 years!
