Every once in a while I like to stop at GFS (Gordon's Food Service). They are a restaurant supply store that also sells to the public. Don,t really know why I stopped, but I'm glad I did. In their fresh meat cooler they had double packs of Pork Butts for $1.39/lb, and Brisket Packers for $1.85. Better yet, they had some smaller Briskets. I got a 6.5 pounder --and 30 pounds of butt. This is restaurant quality.

I know GFS has lots of stores, so you might want to google them and see if there is one near you :-)

Good deal on the brisket but not one within 200 miles of me

Nice score Steve.  Isnt that a great price on the brisket?  Wow.

I can buy them at the Walmart 1 mile from my house for $1.99, but they only have huge ones. I checked every day for a week and the smallest I saw was 13.5 pounds. It will be interesting to see how reliable a supply for smaller briskest, or Briskets of any size, GFS turns out to be. They,re a staggeringly 2 miles away, so ill be able to keep my eye on them. Just never thought of them as a source before.

hey Steve... that's where I get my butts as well... quit buying while prices were over $2 lb... glad to hear prices are down... gonna have to get me some.. I'm ready for some snack sticks ... Piney is in N. Fl (Tallahassee area) .... he's the one that host's the N. Fl. Gathering in the spring.... ever get a chance to make it up there you wont regret it ...
