Long story short live in AZ and had a nasty monsoon season. We were gone on a motor home trip for 3 months. Came back home and this is what I found.

It was covered but the cover was in the yard and the plugs are nowhere to be found.

Anyone know where I can find these kind of plugs or some kind of replacement?

Unit is a 40" glass door bought about 3-5 years ago.

Thanks

Knew if forgot  to add something.

Called Masterbuilt and they told me they couldn't help as I would have to buy the whole body, whatever that means. They couldn't/wouldn't sell me just the plugs.

My thought would be that they could at least tell you what type of plug it is. But to be honest, I'd probably strip the jackets off of the wires and simply hard wire the matching colors if possible. Otherwise, you could always wire up a PID controller for less than $50 to control the element.

Has your neighbor ever complained about you smoking up the neighborhood...

Look in McMaster-Carr or Grainger for a plug that matches.... or get new plugs.. male and female to replace those with... the one 2 wire plug, will need to be thermocouple compatible... they are all low voltage plugs... there are relays in the bottom of the smoker body...

Dave try taking this part to radio shack or any computer store they may have it.

Just an FYI, I got a message from Darryl the other day, he has been 'repositioned' and is now located in China at the plant.

Soooooo........ The way it sounded I am thinking he may not be cruising the boards much. If you want to gather his attention, send him a /PM thats how I got my message to him.

I did a PID and it eliminates the controller. Something to consider and it makes your MES even more set it and forget it!

Do a search using the search bar at the top Dave and you will find many threads explaining PID use with electric smokers. I used this. There is a lot of stuff available on the internet and you will find many options when you do your search.

In simple terms it replaces the controller on the MES and instead of having a on/off cycle that may allow your temp to swing (20 to 30*) when cycling. It will keep it within 2 or 3 degrees.

There are a number of ways you can go if you wanted to set up a PID controller for the smoker. Auber is a more expensive (some say reliable) brand to go with, but you can just as well make by some equipment from Amazon cheaper PID controllers and get it done around $50. Here are a few links to the equipment you'd need along with a small project box from Radio Shack. as AZ has said though you should read up a bit on there function and uses.
