A friend at work who smokes competitively gave me about a cup of  Butchers BBQ Brisket Injection powder.  I'm trying it out this weekend.  I mixed the powder with 1 cup water and one cup low sodium Beef Broth and injected using my trusty pistol.

I wasn't sure what to think when mixing this injection.  It had the smell of instant coffee  (at least that what my 55 year old nose thought I was smelling. )

Has anyone used these products?  They have a chicken booster as well and a number of different rubs and injection mixes.  The web site claims many wins using their products. Id like your comments.

I'm letting this brisket loaf on the counter for a bit before slicing. Looking forward to see if this injection is a winner.

Id have to say it was a winner. The beef turned out great. Tender with just a bit of pull on the slice when you bite down. Good moisture.

The beef flavor was really enhanced by the injection. After smoking, the beef tasted nothing like the injection powder smelled when I was mixing it.  I may have to spring for a bag of this powder.

Again, if anyone has experience with this or the other products at Butchers BBQ please chime in.

Thanks!

Wow, sorry I missed this! That is a beautiful brisket. I sure hope you can do it again for the competition.

Is that a choice or prime brisket, it really has a great presentation.

I believe you have it all figured out.

Thanks Kev

It's a choice brisket.  I really think the injection did what you see there. I sliced it extra thin this time. The meat was tender with just the right amount of snap. But if you look closely at the grain of the meat you'll see how well it retained moisture. I think this new injection helped with that.  The meat also was allowed to set for 2 hours before carving.  Clearly the best brisket I've ever made.  I just need to repeat it.

They have a pork butt injection that I ordered while traveling this week.  It came in yesterday. Going to try it tomorrow.

Its always nice to know your watchful I is on my smoking. I hate to tell you what I paid for this brisket!  Seems like yesterday 20 bucks bought one heck of a brisket.  Now days the prices have more than doubled around these parts.

Have a good weekend!
