After fighting with an ECB for a bit i have finally number up to a WSM 22 and LOVE IT! So, my favorite smoke has to Bette my first on the WSM...3 racks of baby backs with some of Jeff's Rub and some modified SBR BBQ Sacue. The slight tug from the bone tenderness and juicy meat was AWESOME!

How about everyone else...what was your favorite smoke and why?
PS. Everyone loves pics.

My favorite smoke has always been my next one. I always look forward to my next smoke with great anticipation. I love the research, trying to decide what to smoke, how long, how hot, what rub, which smoker, what wood, foil or not, marinate or not, etc. I've always been an experimenter, too. Trying to think outside the box and not getting too caught up in the "tried and true" methods. I've always asked, "Why this way? Why not that way?" It's also why I like this forum. Someone wrote, and I can't remember who, "You can get 11 different ways to smoke something from 10 different people on this site."

This line of thinking gets me into trouble sometimes, too. It's probably why I have so much trouble with my ribs. I did make some really good ribs once, but I've gone off on a tangent and haven't hit on anything good since. Although some people on this forum have advised me and I believe I will follow that advice the next time I do the rib thing.

I know, I ramble on. But, in summary, my favorite smoke is my next one.

Mine was my first Butt because it was so stressful and lasted all night with plenty of beer and questions..

Bluegrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, Featherbed Bent, and Northern California Sensemilia. The amazing stuff about this is, that you can play 36 holes on it in the afternoon, take it home and just get stoned to the bejeezus- Sorry just couldn't pass up an opportunity to quote one of the funniest movies of all time!

My fave was when I FINALLY got a brisket right. Holy cow, I screwed up at least a dozen before I got it right. There are so many variables that come in to play when smoking meat, especially a brisket. So yea, I did a happy dance after that.

Since I all of 3 smokes under my belt, I would say the last one.  I did chicken and aFATTY.  concocking the FATTY was a lot of fun.  The reason I liked it though was because I had a lot of trouble with keeping the temp right.  I kept thinking of everything that I have read here in the different threads and I managed to finish the smoke with great success.  I love that I am learning from what I have read here.  Plus it tasted pretty darn good!  lol

Cuban Montecristo #3! Because the #2 is to big and the #4 is to small. The especiale #2 would prob be my fav if it wasn't plugged all the time.
