Got a vasconia pot black friday for 28 bucks shipped.

Fits perfect on my test dummy.

Used the charcoal grate out of my 14" cheapo Walmart grill to trace out the bottom.

Drilled a hole and a jig saw to cut it out.  Be careful on this part, the pot is thin.

The bottom cut out.

First grate installed and bolts for the second grate which ist here yet.

Grate and diffuser installed.

El cheapo thermo. It is so cheap it wont even take a good picture.

The gold joe will be here on tuesday, depends on when if I finish the mini tuesday or wensday.

Stay tuned.

Shoot we're having the craziest winter ever. Had a week of super cold weather, now it's been almost near 50 everyday. Zero snow, normally the mountains are loaded.

Looks like I could stack up to the diffuser.

Why does it matter if the bottom of the pot is cut out.... riddle me that.  lol      Sorry i just watched the Hang Over.. haha

When I use both racks for slower smokes I put the diffuser at the bottom of the pot on a rack. Therefore every little bit of space counts!!!

My pot has a ridge about 2 inches above the bottom that the diffuser sits on.

Case it would be great for us all to get together for a mini cook out sometime...but you gotta be way out in tim buk two!

Adam I use that ridge to place my lower rack on, then I have a modified rack that can go past that ridge all the way to the bottom. That gives me ample room to put two butts in the smoker.

Lol. Iam not real close either.

Oh, maybe you wasn't including me?

Can you cook that close to the fire?

When building my uds everyone said that you had to be 24 inches from the fire.
