Hello again SmokingMeatForums!! My name is David Francis and I now reside in Tucson Arizona. I was somewhat active here a while back as KYDave but I intentionally turned my life upside down by selling my business and my home of 17 years in Southern Kentucky to relocate to Tucson AZ. I’ve started a new (print) magazine here called Tucson Happenings and it’s going well. We are still in the struggle stages of startup so I’m not sure how often I will be able to visit here, but I missed you guys.
My first roll call on 8/31/11 is here http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/t/110837/greetings-from-southern-kentucky
Upon arrival in the Old Pueblo, I procured another Char-Griller Duo with the smoke box – I know I complained about this grill before but for the money, it’s hard to beat. The only modification I did to it was installing a seal on the smoker side to help me regulate the temperature. She’s still a bit moody but she’s serving me well. I am looking forward to connecting some kind of guru controller to her so I can smoke at lower temps and with more accuracy. She’s only a year old but holding up much better this time. I credit the low humidity but also I am taking better care of her too. No – I didn’t name her, and this is the first time I’ve even referred to my smoker as a she. It seems appropriate because she takes a lot of attention, much like my wife of 30 years. (grin)
I’m just an old guy with a passion for cooking. It’s something that I enjoy and I’m doing my best to learn to do it better. You all have helped in the past. I’m looking forward to learning from you again and sharing my adventures too. Thanks for a great place to do so.
