Maybe this has been answered already, but would it be possible to use the 18.5 midsection to make a WSM mini starting with the Smokey Joe?

So the midsection would have to be upside down?

Hmm. I wonder if anyone has tried it. I would think the it should be about the same on dimensions.

Well, I actually have an extra midsection, so I wanted to check before I looked into buying a Smokey Joe.

The math says it'll work, worst case it wouldn't be hard to make it work but I doubt worst case would come into play.... Oh and you meant to say Jumbo Joe

Yeah, I mean Jumbo Joe. The lid and bottom should both fit you think? That would be a really cheap mini WSM.

Yea absolutely.. I'd do the same thing if I wasn't doing the 30 gallon. What's really nice with that set up is when traveling the joe clamps together to keep the charcoal secure.

I will try it, that way I can get a really cheap second WSM. Thanks!
